This retreat experience is for men and boys 16 and older who desire a deeper connection between father and son. Spend Father’s Day Weekend learning from one another, bonding, and unlearning some of the harmful lessons about masculinity that are passed down through generations across society. Inaugural Father-Son Retreat
Taking place on a beautiful lake-side farmhouse on an orchard in southern Virginia, this is the first ever Hey Brother Co. Father-Son Retreat. Enjoy a long Father’s Day weekend of bonding, outdoor fun, storytelling, and connection building.
For fathers and adult sons over age 17, this will be an opportunity to work towards your ideal father-son relationship and reconnect. We all carry boyhood wounds, regrets, and heaviness around the man we were. Let’s break those generational trauma cycles, brother, and build the foundation for the man we will be.
Leadership and Facilitator Training Retreat
This is an invite-only event for brothers interested in becoming Hey Brother Co. facilitators, or for any men interested in cultivating their leadership skills and building confidence. This event will be a camping, outdoor experience that includes transformative fireside chats, physical challenges, and brotherly bonding.

Inaugural Retreat
The first Hey Brother Co. retreat took place at a lodge on the beautiful Mississippi River in Rice, Minnesota. With a backdoor opening into a huge yard and waterfront river access, this was the perfect location for the inaugural cohort to meet and dive into their men’s work journey. Facilitated by Johnny Cole, Hey Brother Co. founder, this retreat set the precedent for what HBC was to become.
Participants flew into Minneapolis, MN and convoyed to the lodge on Friday, July 1st. A full itinerary, event schedule, and food menu had been prepared beforehand by Johnny. Upon arrival, participants had time to unwind, jump in the river, find a room, and chat. The first evening rung in a communally-cooked plant-based meal (a theme for the entire weekend) where a formal introductory ceremony took place, and intentions and ground rules were established for the weekend.
Over the following days, the men were led through inner child reparenting breathwork ceremonies, guided meditations, yoga flows, documentary screenings, vulnerability exercises, small-group discussions, and team bonding.
The retreat concluded on Monday morning with all participants returning to their various homes around the country, with tearful goodbyes at the airport.
